Hello,
My name is Louise and we started this blog because we love candles. Candles are one of the earliest lighting methods and have been made until recently from tallow or beeswax. During the last century we started using parafin to make candles. It was cheap, easy to manufacture and held it's shap better than the organics. This was great! We could afford to use candles anytime or anyplace. But at what cost to our health and environment?

Parafin wax comes from the bottom of a barrell of crude oil. What's left after all the "good stuf" has been removed. When burned, it emits toxins into the air and into your home.

Organic wax candles, such as soy and beeswax, DO NOT! They burn cleaner, longer, and cooler.

I invite you to post any comments or stories you may have about your experiences with candles.
